Hello and welcome! I’m so thrilled you're here! My name is Courtney Kern and I am the founder of Events Beyond. I have been in the events industry for over 15 years and have extensive experience planning special events including weddings, anniversary and birthday parties and corporate events.

After starting my own event planning company in NYC back in 2008 and before finishing my degree at Mercy College, I worked at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO). After nearly five years with the company and many organizational changes within the company, my time came to an end or so I thought. I ended up continuing to work with MSLO, freelancing for American Made and other projects for several years. (Click here to learn more about me.)

Over the years, I have worn many hats – you can call me the "Courtney-of-all-trades" (*wink, wink*). Between my passion and childhood love for ballet, dance, performing arts and my extensive events experience both at Martha Stewart Living and being self-employed, I was able to cultivate many relationships with uber-talented peeps and companies in the events community and business world— let’s just say I have the pulse on what’s what!

I have built a reputable, reliable and trustworthy brand that has evolved into something BEYOND the traditional events experience, or what I like to call the 4 C’s: Craft, Create, Capture and ConnectAll of which make up my new blog, Crafting, Creating, Capturing a Beautiful life!

It’s taken me some time to figure out what to do with all of the not-so-random emails, direct and Facebook messages, calls, meetings and consultations to form something BEYOND wonderful.

I felt I needed to change the direction of my business to connect better with you all. I continue to have people from all over the U.S. reach out to me daily asking me anything from planning their events to improving specific areas of their business. I have clients connecting with me to get wedding advice, gluten-free recipes, gift ideas, sourcing products, vendor recommendations, information on travel plans, social media advice and breaking into the event business! Long story short, after nearly 8 years of being pulled into every direction imaginable, it has led me to look BEYOND and reshape the direction of EB for 2017.

Since I have become the go-to for nearly every topic under the sun, I am happy to say that I will be incorporating something for everyone in a short weekly blog format.

My goal is to keep my readers, clients, potential clients, industry friends, family and anyone else motivated, inspired and informed while having some fun!

I will be sharing even more of what makes my heart dance such as my favorite picks and finds when it comes to NYC lifestyle and restaurants, upcoming events, performing arts, gluten-free living, recipes, beauty, fashion, decor, health and wellness, travel, DIY projects, my favorite biz reads and tools, wedding and party ideas, event trends, entertaining and ALL THINGS COURTNEY! (Pretty, Planned & Practical!)
